What I Am Doing

Many of my friends including you, perhaps, may be confused about the nature of my Internet-based business due to the variety of topics I cover in my posts and articles. I write this note to sort out the confusion.

Internet-Based Business

Simply stated, my business is Advising-Coaching-Mentoring. I started it in 2004. My aim is to help people move up in their work or business. This way, I share my God-given talents and the rich experience I got when I worked as a corporate executive for approximately 20 years and as an independent service practitioner until the present time.

The areas where people can benefit by interacting with me are: Marketing and Selling, Finance, and Academic Writing. Specifically, these groups can ask for my expert advice and service on how to improve their circumstances as follows:

• Small business owners and sales professionals - Assistance to create effective marketing strategies and tactical programs. Sales training. Sales leads.
• People wanting to start an online business.
• Heads of families and enterprises - Assistance to conserve their wealth by getting the best life, health, and travel insurance coverage. Investments.
• University students - Assistance to write research papers, theses, and dissertations.

Work Experience

Clients are assured of my ability to provide competent advice and service in these areas due to my previous work experience as follows:

• Account service executive and group head in an ad agency
• Advertising and sales promotion manager in a local subsidiary of a multi-national automotive corporation
• Vice-president for marketing and sales of a real estate marketing company
• General manager of another real estate company 

After giving up regular employment, I served as Special assistant for public affairs to a cabinet minister in the government, marketed real estate projects, taught on graduate level, and set up an advising-coaching-mentoring business.

Academic Background

My highest educational attainment is a doctorate in educational management on top of a Master's degree and Bachelor of Arts in English (magna cum laude). I have taught on the undergraduate and graduate levels. At present, my academic work continues with the assistance I provide to university students writing research papers, theses, and dissertations.

The growth of my business has been enabled by social media. I encourage enterprising persons to learn social media marketing methods. In fact, one can establish a profitable business using social media platforms even with just a small budget.

Physical distance is not an obstacle to my work of helping people. My business associates and I use the Internet to render professional advice and service. We have clients in different English speaking countries.

Affiliations

Facebook and LinkedIn are the principal social media platforms I use to stay connected with  many people. As regards the traditional social groups, I have been a vice-president of the Makati Chamber of Commerce Industry, president of a Rotary club, recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by The Rotary Foundation, member and officer of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers, member of the Capitol Realtors Board and the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen & Professionals (Makati Chapter).

Almost 13 Years in Online Business

On November 21, 2005, I founded the Make Money From Home - Off and Online, an online group at Yahoo.com. That it is still existing today with 506 members amazes me; because, to my regret, I did not give the attention it should have gotten from me as its founder. 

The oversight was caused by the emergence of popular social media platforms like Facebook.com and LinkedIn.com. I joined these in 2008 and since then I've been using them as my main marketing tools for my multi-line Internet-based business.

I enjoy recalling the conditions around online business in 2005. In the Philippines, we had just the dial-up connection. Elsewhere, technology was developing by leaps and bounds. You can get an idea of these developments from posts I published in the above-mentioned Yahoo group:

On November 29, 2005, I wrote: "How would you like to learn about broadband internet with speeds of 10 Mbps to 1000 Mbps? This is found in South Korea, where there are no 56K phone modem users and where there are more than 30,000 broadband cafes that rent hundreds of PCs by the hour so that all Koreans have access."

Earlier, on November 22, 2005, I published this post:

"According to Victor June, my mentor and the billionaire founder of the World Server Network TV / World Marketing Network, revolutionary technology has always churned the forces of economic and social evolution. The invention of fire led to the agricultural economy, the invention of the steam engine led to the industrial economy, and the invention of fiber is leading to the Information economy. 

[Victor was the Korea-American who got me as one of his international partners in a successful online marketing business.] 

"He says fiber technology is reshaping the world economy. Unlike the agriculture and industrial economies, the means of production and access to the marketplace in the information economy cannot be controlled by a small number of people because the means of production is the human mind and access to the marketplace is an Internet connection.

"IT has changed the world economy and will lead to significant social changes. People who don't learn IT fall behind. IT illiterate people lose their jobs as their jobs and businesses become obsolete. Those who learn IT enjoy wealth and prosperity in the 21st century."

It was only last year when I got optic fiber connection at home!

New Friends

The verb "link" shares a similar meaning with other verbs such as associate, tie in, relate,  colligate, link up, and connect. There can't be a better and a more inspiring term to use when referring to relationships among friends.


Nowadays, I interact with new friends. One is Sergio Javellana Montinola who is ten years my senior and another is Ernesto R. Tagle less than a year younger and me. Certainly, there are others. I'll mention them in my forthcoming blogs not for lack of space but to avoid the likelihood of boring you with a long writeup.


I met these new good friends after I joined the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals - Makati Chapter, whose members meet for breakfast and sharing of spirit-filled info every Wednesday in the Makati Sports Club.


My being there actually arose from my long-time association with the late Ernesto C. Espejo during my part-time association with the graduate schools of the Philippine College of Health Sciences and National University in Manila. He introduced me to said Christian brotherhood.


Good friendships are invaluable. I will share with you the links that have made my life worthwhile.
